“The Millennium Odyssey” unites Lithuanians around the world for this celebration by spreading more joyful news of a special anthem – “Ode to Lithuania”.
“The Millennium Odyssey” is a chance to prove that we are children of one nation, and the waters that separate us are not an obstacle to our spiritual unity.
We are united by one name – Lithuania, and the 1000th anniversary of Lithuania’s name is a time to rise, to be proud and to glorify Lithuania with an ode. “Ode to Lithuania” is the longest movement. It will contain the purest feelings and greatest words inspired by the name Lithuania.
Looking at each other and our future through the thousand-year-old lens of Lithuania’s name, we will see that we have something to be proud of.
During the Millennium Odyssey every Lithuanian will have an opportunity to be a co-creator of the Ode to Lithuania in two ways – by postcard or at the website www.1000odiseja.lt. Lithuanian communities abroad will be provided with postcards by the LTU 1000 “Ambersail” yacht. Having recorded the Ode to Lithuania we will hand it to our future generations.
