The mission: The mission of “The Millennium Odyssey” is to act as the worldwide ambassadors of Lithuania’s anniversary, and to unite the world’s Lithuanian communities in simultaneous celebration on all five continents. Lithuania! This is the name we are proud of, the name that unites us, the name we will celebrate in 2009. The 1000th anniversary of Lithuania’s name is not just a date in the history books, it is a feeling of togetherness, of confidence that we can present ourselves to the world with pride. “One name – Lithuania”. This is the slogan that accompanies the crew of Lithuanian yachtsmen travelling around the world on a commemorative journey - “The Millennium Odyssey” - which commenced on the 5th of October, 2008.
