The thirty thousand strong Lithuanian community in Germany, established in 1946, besides the Lithuanian Youth Union, Lithuanian Culture Institute, Lithuanian Sunday schools, European Lithuanian Cultural Centre and other culture institutions, is famous as one of the biggest Lithuanian culture hubs in Europe. In this context, the February 16th Gymnasium in Hütenfeld is particularly important and meaningful for all generations of Lithuanian emigrants in Europe.
